Our Stick Insect Rearing Kits are a very popular starter kit if this is your first time at keeping stick insects.  With each kit you will get:
1 cage (select small or medium)
5 stick insect nymphs of our choice
Water container
All you will need to provide is the substrate for the base as well as the foodplant which will be probably bramble (blackberry)

If purchasing one of our kits as a starter kit for young children, at checkout please put in “Additional requirements”  - Starter Kit.  We will then ensure a suitable species of stick insect for young children is in the kit

Caterpillar Rearing Pot

The rearing pot contains live Painted Lady (Vanessa cardui) caterpillars and artificial diet plus care sheet. Suitable for use with pop up  rearing cages or to top up existing complete butterfly kits. Painted Ladies are a migratory species which can be safely released, between March and September. The caterpillars should turn into pupae after around two to three weeks of feeding, depending on ambient temperature, the adult butterflies should emerge after another 10 days.

Pop - up Cylindrical Cage

 

This pop-up cylindrical mesh cage is ideal for keeping butterflies in to observe once they have hatched.  It is also suitable for keeping many other insects in as well as stick insects.  Made of soft, fine, strong mesh with a zip top allowing the cage to be inverted over a potted plant.  Approx size: 35cm diameter; 45 cm high.  Can be stored flat to save space when not in use.
